Governor Lee Kinyanjui calls for review of Nakuru-Narok boundaries

Nakuru County Governor Lee Kinyanjui has urged the the national government through the Ministry of Lands to review afresh the boundaries between Nakuru and Narok Counties.

This is after a long term looming conflict between the two counties over natural resources, revenue collection and electoral boundaries.

According to Governor Lee Kinyanjui, the delay in sorting out the matter might lead to chaos among communities living around the boundary between the two counties, as has been experienced in parts of Mau Narok, Maasai Mau and Ole Tipis.

Governor Kinyanjui urged the national government to invite the two counties in the review process, saying that issues to do with boundaries should not be ignored whatsoever.

He, however, promised to engage with Governor Tunai of Narok County before the national government intervenes.

His sentiments come after chaos erupted at Likia Forest early this month where two communities started wars over land in Maasai Mau.
