Governor Obado’s PA arrested over ‘Nation’ journalist’s abduction

Migori Governor Okoth Obado’s personal assistant, Michael Oyamo, has been arrested over the abduction of a journalist.

Barack Oduor, a journalist with Nation Media Group based in Homa Bay County, was reportedly abducted on Monday night but escaped a few hours later by jumping out of a moving car at Nyangweso Market Centre in Rangwe constituency while being driven to an unknown destination.

Mr. Oduor, who sustained injuries on his knee and hands during the escape, told journalists that his tribulations began in Rongo town, Migori County, where he had gone to pursue a story allegedly implicating Governor Obado in a love triangle.

According to the scribe, who spoke to the press on Tuesday after his escape, the story implicated the Migori County boss of allegedly impregnating and abandoning a second year student at a university in the area.

Mr. Oduor said he was abducted at Rodi Kopany town in Homa Bay County while waiting to meet the said student and Mr. Oyamo who was supposed to issue a statement on behalf of Governor Obado.

The journalist has since been taken to the Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu for medication after which he recorded a statement with the Nyanza Regional CID Coordinator offices in the same town.
