Governor Oparanya urges Raila to support his 2022 presidential bid

Governor Oparanya urges Raila to support his 2022 presidential bid

Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has urged his party leader Raila Odinga as well as leaders from the Western region to drop their 2022 presidential bids and rally behind his candidature.

Addressing residents at Nambirima market in Lugari, the governor urged Odinga to pay back the support he had accorded him throughout his past presidential bids and back him in 2022.

“I have been supporting you all this time during your ambitions for the top office in this country, but now it’s time for you to support me,” said Oparanya to the NASA chief.

“When you come to Kakamega on April 25 this year, I want your declaration.”

He also called on ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetangula to join his bandwagon, calling them cowards for snubbing the controversial January 30 Odinga mock swearing in at Uhuru Park.

“I have also shared with Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula to support me come 2022 because the two showed they are cowards when they refused to turn up in Uhuru Park during Raila’s swearing in ceremony as people’s president,” he added.

Oparanya urged Kenyans to review his performance track record as Member of Parliament for Butere Constituency, Minister for National Planning and Vision 2030, and later his term as the Governor of Kakamega County before making the crucial decision in 2022.
