Governor Ruto in court to defend his juniors

Bomet Governor, Isaac Ruto, on Wednesday, March 1 appeared before Nyamira Law Court to testify against a fraud case involving his ten officers.

Ruto who presented himself in the witness dock defended his officers saying that they have been working diligently under him and they never committed any offence which they were being accused of.

The officers were being charged with executing a project of renovating the Governor’s official residence where they exaggerated the cost and ignored the procurement procedure.

Ruto, who became the sixth witness to give his account, exonerated his officers saying that the plans were the making of the defunct Transitional Authority and his officers had little to do in altering of its execution.

Jacob Oduor, the EACC’s chief document examiner, also testified in the case where he confirmed all the signatures which were presented in the various documents as evidence.
