Governor Rutos car fatally hits pedestrian, he announces on twitter

Bomet Governor, Isaac Ruto, on Tuesday, October 18, announced that his car fatally knocked a pedestrian along the Narok – Bomet road.

Through his twitter account and a statement to newsrooms, the Governor regretted the accident that happened between Mai Mahiu and Suswa.

According to the statement, the man had alighted from a matatu which was “half parked on the road and half on the kerb.”

He was trying to cross the road when the Governor’s car hit him, killing him on the spot.

Both the Governor’s vehicle and the matatu were heading to Mai Mahiu when the accident occurred.

The matatu driver sped off after the accident.

The Governor said that he reported the incident to Mai Mahiu Police station, and has condoled the bereaved family for the unfortunate loss of a loved one.

Police visited the scene of crime and are investigating the accident as well as searching for the matatu.
