Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has directed the County Public Service Board to promote all county staff who have been on acting capacity for over five years.
In a statement to newsrooms on Thursday evening, Governor Sonko stated that during his recent impromptu visits he was “shocked to learn that most of the county staff have been on acting capacity and they have never been promoted since inception.”
“Nevertheless, the governor has issued an executive order of all acting county staff in different sectors to be confirmed and promoted forthwith,” adds the later from Govern’s Sonko’s Press Service Director Elkana Jacob.
Sonko had also, earlier on, announced that he would be providing free transport for football fanatics who will be watching Sunday’s AFCON match between Kenya and Ethiopia at Kasarani Sports Centre.
The county chief pledged 150 buses, saying he was prompted by the government’s decision to allow fans entry into the stadium for free on said day.
