Governor Wa Iria, Sabina Chege floor challengers in latest opinion poll

Incumbent Murang’a Governor, Mwangi Wa Iria, would recapture his seat if elections were to be held today.

In the latest poll released by Infotrak Research Company on Wednesday, April 19, Mwangi Wa Iria garnered 58% approval rating against his opponent and Member of Parliament for Kigumo, Jamleck Kamau, who stands at 20.5% followed at a distant third by Dr Moses Mwangi with 1.6% with 19.6% undecided.

In the Senatorial race, Deputy Senate Speaker, Kembi Getura, won the popular vote with 35.4% followed closely by Kiharu Legislator, Irungu Kang’ata, at 23.1% and Joseph Mbai at 0.8%. A recorded 39.9% were undecided.

In a survey that saw 800 people interviewed between the 14th- 15th April 2017 saw Women Representative, Sabina Chege, hold a strong lead at 60.6% trouncing former media personality Waithira Muithirania who stands at 12.6% and Catherine Munyiru at a distant third of 0.7%. 25.8% were undecided.

Jubilee Party stood as favourite by commanding an 89.1% with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) standing at 1.8% followed by the NASA coalition at 2.1%.
