Governor Waiguru drops defamation case against Raila after meeting
Opposition leader Raila Odinga and Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru on Wednesday afternoon settled their differences after a meeting at Capitol Hill.
The two were previously embroiled in a court case in which the Kirinyaga County boss sued the former Prime Minister over utterances he made linking her to the loss of millions of shillings during the first National Youth Service (NYS) scandal.
In a tweet after the meeting, Governor Waiguru stated that the “outstanding matter in court” stands settled “in the spirit of cohesion and reconciliation in the country.”
“We also deliberated on matters of devolution. H.E Right Honorable Raila Odinga confirmed and affirmed his support for it going forward,” she added.
