Govt declares Monday a public holiday

The government has declared Monday, June 26, 2017 a public holiday to allow Muslims mark the end of the Holy Month of Ramadhan.
Through a gazzete notice, Interior Cabinet Secretary, Major Gen. (Rtd.) Joseph Nkaissery, said the day, according to the law, is a public holiday.
“Monday 26th June will be observed as a public holiday to mark Idd-Ul-Fitr pursuant to Section 3 of the Public Holidays Act,” Nkaissery said in the notice.
Ramadhan began on May 27 and ends on June 24.
