Gov’t donates food to children of Makueni man filmed assaulting wife

The government has stepped in and offered food aid to the children of David Nzomo, the Makueni man who was filmed assaulting his wife.

Makueni County Commissioner Mohammed Maalim said they decided to help the two children who are currently under the care of an aunt since their father is being held by the police while their mother continues to receive medical attention at Nairobi Women’s Hospital.

Daudi Nzomo, 36, was arrested on Thursday morning at Masumba Ngoo shopping centre in Makueni County after residents disclosed his location to the police.

He was on Friday arraigned before Senior Principal Magistrate James Mwaniki where he pleaded guilty to grievously harming his wife Winfred Mwende.

According to Mwende, the man started to become violent towards her in 2013 when he married a second wife.
