Gov’t in Sh700m Bid to Equip Nakuru Hospitals

Deputy President William Ruto said the hospitals will be equipped with modern facilities to match international standards.

Speaking at Kipkoros Primary School in Kuresoi North during a fundraiser on Saturday, Ruto said Nakuru County is among the first counties to be considered in the project, adding that the national government will work closely with Nakuru County Government to see to it that the project is successful.

Mr Ruto promised that 300 kilometres of road will be tarmacked in Nakuru County, adding that the county should prioritise which roads need urgent tarmacking.

MAU RESETTLEMENT PROJECT

The deputy president further stated that road works for the completion of tarmacking of the Kibunja-Olenguruone road will begin before December.

Nakuru County Governor Kinuthia Mbugua on his part called on the government to complete the Mau resettlement program, where 5 camps are still pitched.

"Nakuru County is facing a food shortage but my government is addressing the issue by donating food to the affected areas," said my Kinuthia.

Mr Mbugua also called on the national government, through the deputy president’s office, to see that water projects in the county, including the proposed Itare dam in Kuresoi are implemented to curb water shortages in the county.
