Govt urged to save Kenyan girl sentenced to hang in Saudi Arabia

Nominated Mombasa Senator Emma Mbura has called on the government to rescue a Kenyan woman from imminent death after she was sentenced to hang in Saudi Arabia.

The woman’s plight was made known by other women who were returning from Saudi Arabia after suffering cruelty in the hands of their employers.

The woman, known only as Viola, was sentenced to death after she was allegedly raped and impregnated by her employer.

“In Saudi Arabia, if you sleep with a man who is not your husband, the penalty is death,” said one of the returnees.

According to the women, Viola’s employer turned the tables on her and accused her of seducing him into extramarital relations when he found out she was pregnant.

“After she gave birth, her child was taken away from her, her employer took her to court and claimed that she had raped him while the truth is he is the one who raped her,” she continued.

The ladies who arrived on Saturday and Sunday came back after the government intervened to facilitate their return home following a video circulated by Ghetto Radio showing them in distress.

They came back with a call to save the other women in Tarhil among them Viola who is set to hang soon.
