Granny, 67, Detained for Attacking 10 year old with Panga

Kabon Yator is alleged to have come home in the evening on Thursday and grabbed a panga before attacking a 10-year-old standard three pupil with it, injuring her on the heel.

 cut the ten year-old class three girl of Ketindui primary school, injuring her on the heel.

The girl, a pupil at Ketindui Primary School, is now recuperating in Kabarnet County Referral Hospital with a broken tendon and may be in the hospital for one month.

According to reports, the grandmother came home drunk that evening and found the girl in the garden weeding before attacking her with the machete.  

A children’s officer in Baringo County, Irene Chepkwony, said she will ensure that the girl’s rights are not violated despite the fact that her parents and grandmother had decided to settle the matter at home while the girl remained in hospital.
