GSU cop arrested over death of Form One student, son

An officer from the General Service Unit (GSU), Edwin Mwenda Njeru, has been arrested in connection with the death of Pauline Kagendo and her son.

The bodies of the victims that had been in a pit latrine for close to one year were also retrieved on Wednesday.

This was after the family in Mbeere North sought for help from the government after claims that the local authorities had ignored their case.

Area police had indicated that they were waiting for a team from Nairobi to lead the operation.

On Wednesday, they retrieved the remains which were human bones, a lower jaw and adult molars.

Soil and ash samples were also collected from various sites for analysis.

The suspect has been remanded at the Embu GK Prison while investigations are ongoing.
