GSU officer shoots dead lover, kills self
Residents of Mokowe village in Lamu West were treated to a shocking spectacle after GSU officer shot his lover before shooting self dead.
According to neighbours who rushed to the house upon hearing gunshots, the officer had locked the door from inside before committing the heinous act.
Area OCPD, Zachary Kimani, who alter rushed to the scene said the officer killed his lover who had accompanied him to his house before killing himself.
He, however, said that the cause of the officer’s act is yet to be established.
The two bodies were removed to Mpeketoni Sub-District Hospital Mortuary.
Elsewhere, Bwajumwali area chief was brutally murdered by unknown assailants Thursday night in Lamu East.
The body of the deceased, who was recently promoted from an Assistant Chief after the death of the the chief, was found with machete cuts and was dumped in a nearby forest.
Residents suspect the killing was a retaliatory attack and want the government to intervene saying cases of young people being killed are on the rise in the area.
