GSU officers kill woman during illicit brew crackdown

GSU officers have been accused of killing a woman at Gatirima village in Laikipia West during an operation against illicit brew.

It is reported that the officers assaulted the woman during a crackdown at her house leading to serious injuries that resulted in her death.

The incident has sparked protest from human rights activists who called on the government to act decisively and arrest the suspects.

Led by Michael Kabuchi, the activists called for thorough investigations into the incident and prosecution of those behind the killing.

“The woman succumbed to injuries after she was thoroughly beaten by GSU officers. We call on the government to carry out investigations and arrest the culprits,” said Kabuchi.

Police are yet to comment on the incident.
