Gumbo-Oduol unity threatens Rasanga’s re-election bid

Siaya Governor, Cornel Rasanga, is a man under siege after outspoken Rarienda Member of Parliament, Nicholas Gumbo, and 2013 gubernatorial contestant, William Oduol, said they would work together to dislodge him from the county’s top seat.

Oduol, one of the top contestants for the Siaya gubernatorial seat in 2013, lost to Rasanga but lodged a complaint alleging that he had been rigged out but lost the petition.

Gumbo and Oduol now say they will work together to unseat Rasanga accusing him of failing to meet the expectations of the electorate.

The two, who have already expressed interest in the gubernatorial contest, said they will work together with whoever clinches the nomination to ensure they emerge victorious.

Oduol hinted on a possibility of either of them being the gubernatorial candidate and the other one a running mate but declined to delve further into the details.

They were speaking at Rarieda Secondary in Rarieda Constituency.

Gem Member of Parliament, Jakoyo Midiwo, assured the two of his support saying that there is need to support leaders who will bring tangible change to the people.
