Haji wants court to set aside orders suspending Mwilu case

The Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji has now moved to court seeking to set aside orders that temporarily stopped Deputy CJ Philomena Mwilu’s fraud case.

According to him, the High Court directive to stop criminal proceedings over alleged corruption will compromise the case against Mwilu.

The Deputy CJ sought the intervention of the court on August 29 following her arrest and arraignment the previous day.

Judge Chacha Mwita ruled in her favour and directed that the case be heard October 9, 2018. Parties were also told to file their responses and appear for inter-party hearing on the said date.

More to follow.
