Hate mongers should carry their own cross Jubilee

The Jubilee coalition has distanced itself from political leaders accused of hate speech and incitement to violence.

Addressing the press on Wednesday, Jubilee MPs and officials led by TNA chair Onyango Oloo said they would not condone cases of incitement in the coalition and called on investigating agencies to take action against those involved.

Two of the six people who have recently been accused of hate speech are from Jubilee; Kiambu Governor William Kabogo and Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria.

ODM Nairobi Branch chair and former Nairobi Mayor George Aladwa, Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama and Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale are the CORD members who have been accused of hate speech.

Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has also been accused of hate speech over his twitter posting which were deemed to target one community.

In one of the posts, Ngunyi stated that: “The LUO NATION is spell bound by RAILA. Period. That is why they call him BABA like NYAYO. In fact, the only BABA after NYAYO. Mental SLAVERY.

Kabogo has been under sharp criticism after a video emerged of him making what has been termed as inciting statements targeting CORD leader Raila Odinga and Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama.

The clip taken last week at Thika Stadium shows Kabogo threatening Senator Muthama with dire consequences if he does not stop insulting President Uhuru Kenyatta while accusing Raila of apathy saying his decisions are deprived of wisdom.

Moses Kuria is accused of inciting youth in his constituency to slash – using pangas – those opposed to the National Youth Service (NYS) programme while Aladwa is accused of inciting ODM supporters to resort to violence if the 2017 elections are rigged.

The leaders further accused CORD of blaming the government for corruption without evidence adding that individuals linked to corruption face prosecution.

Onyango Oloo, voiced his support for embattled Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru saying the tendering committee is to blame for the cases of corruption at the ministry.

He further noted that the economy is stable urging Kenyans to rest easy and avoid raising panic.
