Headteacher arrested after showing up drunk to collect KCPE papers

Police on Wednesday morning arrested a headteacher who showed up drunk to collect Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination papers in Ol Kalou, Nyandarua County.

Mr. Peter Kamau Ndegwa, who is the headteacher of South Wales Primary School — a private institution — staggered to the collection centre at the Nyandarua County Commissioner’s office demanding to be served first.

Nyandarua Central Deputy County Commissioner Gideon Oyagi, who confirmed the arrest, said the headteacher is set to be arraigned in court.

“We have directed the police to arraign him, that’s a professional misconduct,” said Mr. Oyagi.
