Health CS Mutahi Kagwe warns against attacks on Chinese nationals over coronavirus

Ministry of Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has asked Kenyans to treat visitors from Asian countries with respect and kindness as the country puts measures in place to fight coronavirus.

The CS who spoke while opening the Mbagathi Hospital isolation centre, which will handle any infections that may arise.

At the same time, Kagwe said his ministry has stuck a deal with Safaricom and will be sending periodic updates to Kenyan over the COVID-19 virus.

He cautioned Kenyans against spreading misinformation saying anyone found culpable of the criminal offense in a court of law will face a fine or a jail term.

“We wish to notify the public that alarming messages are a criminal offense which may lead to arrest, prosecution and incarceration, so take caution,” he said.
