Health services paralyzed in Meru as strike enters day three

The usually busy Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital has for the third-day remained deserted as Meru County Health workers strike continues.

Services in most public hospitals were paralyzed as workers did not report for duty with only cleaners and few top hospital management officers working.

However, they declined to comment on the situation with the fate of those hospitalized remaining delicate.

A spot check by Citizen TV revealed that no outpatient services were on being offered as the wing remained closed.

Meanwhile, union officials say that the health workers will meet Saturday, October 8 to deliberate on the way forward adding that they have no trust in the county government and that it might not implement a return to work bargain.

Meanwhile, county government administration is still reluctant to comment on the situation.
