Heckled MP charges at youth in New Year celebrations

New Year celebrations at Chelanga Grounds in West Pokot County almost turned chaotic after Kapenguria Member of Parliament (MP) Samuel Moroto differed with a group of youth, who heckled him during his speech.

An irate Mr Moroto stopped his speech midway and threatened to beat up the youth.

The unmoved youth however in retaliation, dared the legislator to make good on his threat.

It was then that the visibly angry Mr Moroto started charging toward a group of youth but was pulled back by West Pokot County commander, Mathew Kutto, who managed to restore tranquility.

When order was restored, the celebrations continued with West Pokot Governor John Lonyangapuo leading the residents in praying for families of those whose loved ones perished in separate road crashes in the country in 2017.
