Helicopter expo opens in Tianjin, China

The Third China Helicopter Exposition opened on Wednesday morning in north China’s port city of Tianjin.

Twenty helicopters have staged air demonstrations at the opening ceremony, including the WZ-10 and WZ-19 attack helicopters from China’s Fenglei (wind and thunder) aerobatic team.

Civil helicopters that also joined the demonstration were the EC135 developed by Eurocopter and the homegrown AC311.

A total of 56 helicopters from more than ten countries will be on display at the exhibition which runs from Wednesday to Sunday.

The exhibition is China’s first professional expo on helicopters approved by the State Council, jointly held by the Tianjin Municipal Government, Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) and the Army Aviation Department under the General Staff Department of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA).
