Henry Kosgey, Francis Kimemia get top government appointments

Former Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) chairman and Tinderet Member of Parliament Henry Kosgey has been appointed the chairman of the Tourism Fund to serve for a period of three years effective March 18th, 2016. In a Gazette Notice dated Friday, March 18th, President Uhuru Kenyatta also appointed former Head of Public Service and Secretary to the Cabinet Francis Kimemia as the chairperson of the Industrial and Commercial Development Corporation (ICDC).

Former top cop Major General (Rtd.) Hussein Ali has been appointed the non-executive chairman of the Non-Governmental Organizations Coordination Board for a period of three years while business mogul Chris Kirubi has been named the non-executive chairman of the Brand Kenya Board.

Sportsman Paul Tergat has been appointed the chairperson of the Kenya Academy of Sports Council while Kenya Commercial Bank Chief Executive Officer Joshua Oigara has been appointed the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) chairperson for a period of four years.

Former nominated Member of Parliament Sofia Abdi Noor has been appointed the chairperson of the Board of Affirmative Action Social Development Fund while Ronald Osuma, who was 2013 presidential contender Peter Kenneth’s running mate, has been appointed the chairperson of the Youth Advisory Board for a period of three years.

Former Public Health and Sanitation Principal Secretary Mark Bor has also been appointed the non-executive chairman of the Kenyatta National Hospital for a period of three years.
