High Court allows DCI, DPP to be enjoined in Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilus case

The High court has allowed an application by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to be enjoined in Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu’s ongoing case.

The two have been directed to file and serve their submissions in the case in which the Deputy Chief Justice is challenging the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) proceedings.

Meanwhile, orders stopping the JSC proceedings have been extended.

Justice Mwilu moved to High Court in August and obtained orders stopping the JSC committee from continuing with the hearing of complaints filed against her by the DPP and DCI.

The complaints seek her removal from office over claims of gross misconduct.

The matter will be mentioned on November 17 when the compliance will be confirmed and the hearing date fixed.
