Hockey ace Masinde dies

United States International University of Africa (USIU) hockey player Martha Masinde is dead.

Masinde, also a student at the institution, passed on Saturday in Bungoma after succumbing to respiratory complications at Kory family hospital.

Masinde who was pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Accounting is said to have developed the illness since September when her team won against Multimedia.

Martha, 24, is an alumni of Moi Girls Kamusinga and was a player of Spartans

“Sasha was a budding talent who had a great future in the sport,she had ambitions of playing for the international team in the future,” said Spartans coach John Kabuu

“She was a great team player who was always working to improve not only in her game but also in her studies,” said Spartans skipper Beatrice Mbugua
