Homa Bay County officer killed in road accident

An officer attached to the Homa Bay County Government died on Sunday evening in a road accident on Sondu-Oyugis Road near Chabera Trading Centre.

Enock Kopiyo, who was the Rachuonyo East Sub-county Disease Surveillance officer, died on the spot after the car he was driving towards Chabera area, collided head-on with a matatu heading to Kisumu from Oyugis.

Atela Location Chief Peres Muga, who confirmed the incident, said Mr. Kopiyo died just next to the gate of his home located near Atela Primary School.

The two vehicles were towed to Othoro Police Station for inspection and further investigations.

The body of the deceased was moved to Rachuonyo Sub-county Hospital mortuary.
