Homa Bay County offices torched
Property of an unknown value has been destroyed following a fire incident at the Homa Bay County government offices on Thursday night.
According to reports, several offices including that of Homa Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti, finance and procurement department offices were burnt down.
Homa Bay County Police Commander Marius Tum said preliminary investigations revealed the fire was likely caused by a petrol bomb, adding that one suspect is already in custody.
Speaking to Citizen Digital, an EACC officials who sought anonymity said that on Tuesday anti-graft detectives raided the same offices and confiscated documents including computers over possible loss of Sh5bn on impress accounts of senior county government officials.
