A 29-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly defiling a Standard Three pupil at Kisui beach in Homa Bay County on Wednesday evening.

The suspect identified as Erick Omondi Oyoo, a fisherman based at Kisui beach is accused of defiling a 9 year old girl in his rental house.

According to Kisui Beach Management Unit chairperson Fredrick Wanyende, the suspect was caught red-handed having carnal knowledge with the minor on his matrimonial bed when his wife was cleaning their compound.

Wanyande says that the suspect’s wife raised an alarm to the beach management unit leadership who rushed to the scene and arrested him before he was handed over to the area Assistant chief and officers from Mbita police station.

The minor was rushed to Mbita Sub County hospital for treatment where a medical examination revealed that the minor was defiled.

Area Assistant Chief Elisha Orwa added that the suspect’s wife was also arrested after she attempted to commit suicide to allegedly divert attention so that her husband could not be arrested.
