Homa Bay man found dead after three-day search mission

The body of a man whose relatives claim he has been missing for the last three days has been found hanging from a tree in the homestead of a widow in Otondo village in Rachuonyo, Homa Bay County.

The body of John Onyango Okuto was discovered by the widow’s younger daughter dangling from a tree in their compound.

The 46-year-old man is alleged to have committed suicide although under unclear circumstances.

Close relatives of the deceased said he had not been seen at home three days prior to his death, adding that nobody could explain the cause of his alleged suicide since he did not leave any suicide note.

According to area Chief Elisha Jones, the deceased’s body had no physical injuries.

The body was taken to Rachuonyo South sub-county Hospital mortuary for postmortem.

The administrator called on the bereaved family to remain calm as they await the postmortem results.
