Homa Bay residents raise alarm over python menace
Residents of Koredo sub-location in Homa Bay County are presently living in fear over a reported increase in the number of python attacks in the area.
This comes following another incident where a middle-aged man was recently attacked by a python on his maize plantation before irate members of the public later killed the animal.
According to area residents who spoke to Citizen Digital, the pythons have been straying away from beaches in the area such as Rawi, Kobiero, Lwasi, and Oyaore beaches and roaming the villages causing discomfort.
Confirming the python menace, Koredo sub-location Assistant Chief David Opera said the animals have caused fear among residents besides being a threat to their livestock.
Mr. Opera has now called upon the Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) to come to the aid of the community.
