Scores of families were forced to spend the night in the cold after their homes were reduced to ashes during the 9:30pm incident.

According to Langata police boss Gregory Mutiso property worth unknown value was destroyed.

He noted that cause of the fire is yet to be established but investigations have been launched.

The inferno that wrecked havoc was later contained after locals joined firefighters to put it out.

No injuries were reported during the Monday night incident.

Early this year fierce, a similar inferno broke out at the same Kijiji area and left eight people dead.

Deputy President William Ruto later said the government would spend Ksh.70million to resettle the affected families.
