House Girl Bites, Assaults 2 year old and Escapes

House Girl Bites, Assaults 2 year old and Escapes

The boy was assaulted on Thursday night when his mother had gone to work.

When she returned, she noticed wounds on his hands and back when she was washing him.

Elizabeth Mwaura, the mother, said that she employed the house girl, Faith Mukangu, from Bungoma County two months ago, adding that they do not have her details since she was 19 and had not applied for an identity card.

Elizabeth said that after noticing the wounds, they confronted the girl who denied any wrong-doing but escaped later in the day after she was sent to town on an errand.

She later took her son to the hospital where doctors confirmed that the wounds were as a result of human bites.

The distraught mother told Citizen TV that she had filled a P3 form and recorded a statement with the police.

“In the last two weeks, my son has changed, he has been living in fear and has even lost weight, from 19 kilograms to 16 kilograms, which the doctors term that as 'alarming',” she said.

CHANGE IN BEHAVIOUR

Narrating the ordeal at their home at Spring Valley estate in Embu town, Elizabeth said that her son is traumatised and cannot sleep.

The boy’s grandmother, Rosana Mwaura, said that she had noticed that the boy’s behavior had changed but she did not suspect that he was being assaulted by the house girl.

The family describes the house girl as a quiet person.

“We have decided to go public to save other children from going through the same. We want the police to expedite her arrest so she can face the law,” she said.
