Huge fire guts down Oasis resort in Malindi

A massive fire gutted the Oasis tourist resort in Malindi on Saturday afternoon, destroying property worth millions of shillings.

Firefighters and citizens battled to put out the blaze, which was being fanned by high winds.

The fire rapidly spread to nearby buildings, wreaking havoc and damaging property.

Malindi OCPD John Kemboi confirmed the incident saying efforts to contain the fire were underway.

Kemboi told Citizen Digital they were seeking help from the Malindi Airport Firefighting Department after the Kilifi County fire engine ran out of the water.

The cause of the fire was not immediately apparent.
