Hundreds left homeless in Imara Daima demolitions
Hundreds of people have been rendered homeless after their structures were demolished at Imara Daima.
Businessmen have decried losses running into thousands of shillings, following the 4am demolitions overseen by Nairobi city county officials and a heavy contingent of police officers.
The authorities rolled out the demolition of illegal structures after a seven day notice expired, with the county administration noting that the kiosks are built on a pipeline way besides interfering with electricity cables.
The affected resident however claim that there was no notice issued prior the demolition, further urging the government to intervene and resolve the issue.
