Husband of murdered Ndooni teacher arraigned in court

Six more suspects including the husband of the late Daisy Mbathe Mbaluka were on Monday arraigned in a Kitui court.

Lawrence Mbindi Ndolo was arraigned alongside Amos Jacob Kithikii, Mutiso Mulwa, Nzangi Mulwa, Rachael Nzangi Mutiso and Martha Kisilu.

The suspects have been linked to the murder of the middle-aged teacher from Ndooni primary school in Endau, Kitui East.

She was reportedly waylaid by unknown persons near her home, slashed to death with machetes and her body burned to ashes on January 6, 2020.

This comes barely four days after the court ordered two other suspects: Wambua Mwangangi and Chris Kyalo Muli, to be detained at Mutito police station for 21 days.

This is pending conclusion of police investigations into the teacher’s gruesome death.

Kitui Chief Magistrate Stephen Mbungi granted an application by Mutito criminal detectives to detain the six suspects at Kabati, Mbitini and Endau police stations.

The detention is to also bar them from interfering with ongoing murder probe.
