Husband stabbed to death for drinking family money

A 22-year-old man died on the spot after he was stabbed by his wife at a pub in Embu town.

The incident, which occurred on Friday at 11pm, resulted from a squabble between Erick Gitonga and his wife Winnie with the former accusing her husband of spending family money on alcohol.

Police have launched a manhunt for the woman who is said to have disappeared after stabbing the man.

Embu West OCPD Francis Sang confirmed the incident saying the two quarrelled about money which the woman is said to have earned but the man decided to spend it on alcohol.

Sang said the woman is said to have trailed the man to the pub where he was drinking and called him out for a talk before stabbing him on the back three times.

Winnie, a mother of one, is said to have been angered by the fact that her husband was hanging out with other women in the pub while she and her child were suffering at home.

The deceased was moved to Embu Level Five Hospital mortuary as investigations into the incident continue.
