I am not in CORD, Martha Karua says

Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua has refuted claims that she has ditched her party and joined the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD).

In a post on her Twitter account, Ms Karua stated that she has no affiliation to CORD’s rival Jubilee, stating that her allegiance is still in her Narc-Kenya party.

Karua has for some time been affiliated to CORD, owing to her close working relations with the opposition coalition leader Raila Odinga.

The 2013 presidential aspirant was supportive of CORD’s push for the removal of commissioners of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) due to their apparent ineptitude to hold a free and fair election.

The opposition held weekly protests outside the Anniversary Towers, which houses IEBC offices in Nairobi, for a month that ended after President Uhuru Kenyatta agreed to form a committee comprising of both CORD and Jubilee legislators to spearhead electoral reforms.

Karua has also been a critic of the Jubilee Government, voicing her opposition on matters of corruption.
