I am not sabotaging Luhya unity, Wamalwa says

Water and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa has told off National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula over claims that he is sabotaging Luhya unity.

Speaking in Trans Nzoia County, Wamalwa said that Trans Nzoia is a cosmopolitan county, adding that it is wrong for the leaders to brand leaders from the region supporting the ruling Jubilee Party as ‘traitors’.

“I have heard that Mudavadi and Wetangula come here and declare this a NASA stronghold because the county is pre-dominantly Luhya. It is common knowledge that former President Daniel Moi nurtured the political careers of Mudavadi and Wetangula,” Wamalwa said.

The former Justice minister told off the two opposition leaders for their recent remarks, saying that for the 24 years they were in government he was in the opposition.

“They worked under Moi and also served in various capacities under President Kibaki, how come they only fault my support for President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto?” Wamalwa posed.

Wamalwa appealed to Trans Nzoia residents to embrace democracy saying any leader has a right to campaign in any part of the country.
