I am not withdrawing from presidential race, Aukot says

Thirdway Alliance Presidential candidate Ekuru Aukot has insisted that he will be on the ballot come October 26th repeat presidential poll.

Aukot who was reacting to reports making rounds on social medial of his alleged withdrawal from the race if the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC) was not going to look into the reforms proposed by the National Super Alliance(NASA) however said: “I will be David and am ready to meet Goliath with all his might at the ballot on 26th October.”

Taking to twitter, Aukot further warned Kenyans against the rumours making rounds saying: “Kenyans shouldn’t listen to propaganda being peddled that I have withdrawn from presidential race. I will be in the ballot on 26.10.17”

This comes just a day after Aukot was allowed to run for the highest seat in the land following a High Court ruling that saw him included in the repeat election slated for October 26th 2017.

In a ruling delivered by Justice John Mativo, the court further directed the electoral body IEBC, to amend the gazette notice and include him as a candidate in the repeat poll.

Speaking after the ruling, Aukot however said that the electoral body,IEBC ,should undergo reforms to ensure that  mistakes that led to the nullification of the August 8 presidential election are not repeated.

Aukot’s inclusion into the October 26th poll has sent fresh chills into the political arena with IEBC now saying that all the other presidential candidates who took part in the August 8th election are also eligible for the repeat poll.
