I have changed CORD politics Bonny Khalwale

Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale has claimed responsibility for the recent political invigoration within the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) politics.

Speaking in Kakamega on Sunday, Khalwale said that his entry into Ford Kenya has ‘spiced things up’ in CORD, labeling himself as Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula’s right-hand man.

The Ford Kenya legislator, who joined the party from the defunct UDF weeks ago, stated that he has helped position Ford Kenya well in CORD and has been vocal in supporting Wetangula’s presidential bid.

“Whenever ODM leader Raila Odinga speaks, Siaya Senator James Orengo is always by his side; when Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka speaks Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama is by his side and now when Wetangula speaks you will be seeing the bullfighter by his side,” said Khalwale, amid applause from the crowd.

The Kakamega Senator further called on Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya to quit ODM and join Ford Kenya, which he termed as the “home party”.

“Oparanya should desist from telling Wetangula to join ODM because he is a very junior member in politics,” said Khalwale.

“He should come to Ford Kenya so that we can compete for nominations, because if he sticks to ODM I will defeat him very early in the morning.”

In a past interview with Citizen Digital, Khalwale stated that he is fully behind Wetangula’s presidential bid, adding that he is better placed to defeat President Kenyatta in the 2017 election.

Khalwale also urged CORD to adopt a 40-30-30 formula between ODM leader Raila Odinga, Ford Kenya’s Wetangula and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, to ensure amicable distribution of appointive positions within the coalition.
