I have delivered to the people of Garissa, Governor Nathif Jama says

Garissa County Governor Nathif Jama has laughed off criticism from a section of Garissa leaders saying that the county has made long strides in terms of development under his administration.

On Saturday March 25, Garissa Town Lawmaker Aden Duale, Senator Yusuf Hajji and gubernatorial hopeful Ali Korane accused the county government of massive corruption scandals; unfinished development projects and misuse of public funds; accusations the governor says are far-fetched.

“I want to state without any fear of contradiction that that despite numerous court challenges, we have indeed fulfilled many projects and programs that are relevant to the yearnings and aspirations of our people. These include issues to do with water, crop production, livestock and education,” said the governor.

The governor, who was addressing residents during the 4th Anniversary of Devolution at Garissa Primary School, boasted of how under his administration, said some roads have been re-carpeted, 300 fully-equipped ECD classrooms have been constructed, over 15 boreholes drilled, 21 maternity units and 16 modern dispensaries as well as construction and equipping of theaters in Mbalambala and Modogashe hospitals.

He also urged politicians seeking elective seats to campaign in a civil manner and not false propaganda that will divide the people of Garissa.

“The politicians who are trying to force people to elect them by abusing others should stop. The earlier they do that better for them,” he said.
