I will name and shame enemies of my gov’t – Wambora

Embu Governor Martin Nyagah Wambora has blamed a section of local leaders over attempts to remove him from office.

Wambora claimed a group of six leaders have been plotting to oust him before the 2017 elections.

Speaking during a thanksgiving service for Evurori Ward Member of County Assembly Muchira Kigoro at Ishiara, Wambora said six local leaders have orchestrated a smear campaign to paint him as a failure and thereby edge him out of his position before his terms ends in 2017.

Wambora, who has withstood three impeachment attempts, insisted that he derives his mandate to govern Embu people from the electorate and not the Senate.

This was his first reaction, since winning the protracted court battles on three impeachment attempts that had been sanctioned by the Senate.

“I am happy that the enemies of my administration have now reduced to three, after some came to their senses, by January I will soon name and shame them publicly so that they can know that am not a coward,” said Wambora.

“The baggage that has weighed heavily on me for two years making it difficult to serve has now been offloaded and it is time to work. I will soldier on with development agenda and i will confidently go back to the people of Embu for votes come 2017 as he seeks a reelection for another term,” he added.

In the ruling, the Court of Appeal also said the High Court’s initial decision was erroneous.

Wambora had been in court since a motion of impeachment against him successfully went through both the Embu County Assembly and the Senate.
