President Uhuru Kenyatta has reassured Kenyans that he will respect their wish and relinquish power should he lose in the August General election.

“You can expect me to obey the will of the people of Kenya”, he said.

President Uhuru made this reassurance as he continued with his tour across counties to push for voter registration in his support base during the ongoing Mass Voter Registration exercise.

He was responding to questions by journalists at the Sagana State Lodge in Nyeri County.Here he has also called on Kenyans, especially the youth, to collect their ID cards from registration bureaus and register as voters ahead of the crucial August Election, assuring that his government is employing various means to avail National ID cards, thousands that remain uncollected.

“An ID is the right of every Kenyan who has attained the age. We will take action on those who ask for bribes instead of giving IDs,” said the head of state.

Uhuru further denied claims of favouritism in the implementation of government projects, even as he continues his push for his supporters to register as voters.

His tour expected to take him to Samburu, Baragoi, Maralal, Wamba, Rumuruti in Laikipia County on Monday.
