ICC Grants Ruto’s Blanket Excusal
Published on: January 16, 2014 04:08 (EAT)
The International Criminal Court has granted deputy president William Ruto’s request for unlimited excusal from attendance at trial. Presiding Judge Chile Eboye-Osuji however said the excusal was conditional and that Ruto is expected to attend certain key hearings and every first 5 days of session following a court recess. And as Sylvia Chebet reports, Ruto is now expected to attend trial only for 3 days next week for the remainder of the period that the trial will take before the next break.
