IDPs, police clash over compensation money
One person is admitted to Nyamira County Hospital with gunshot wounds and several others injured following a clash between Anti-Riot Police and hundreds of internally displaced people who were protesting over their compensation money.
According to the IDP’S, troubles started when some of their members demanded to know why their names were missing from the list of people to people compensated.
Police were called in to restore calm but instead the IDP’S engaged police in running battles.
The incident comes barely two weeks after the IDP’S held demonstrations over their compensation money that President Uhuru Kenyatta had issued during his visit last month
