IEBC issue will be resolved- Raila Odinga
Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leader Raila Odinga has expressed optimism that the IEBC issue will be resolved after Cord and Jubilee agreed on teams to begin talks.
Raila urged his supporters to be patient as the two coalition parties fix the electoral body.
This as Deputy President William Ruto restated Jubilee’s readiness to engage in the talks.
Ruto however said the talks are inconsequential in determining the 2017 outcome as voters are the cardinal pillars in poll outcomes
The Deputy President who was in Kirinyaga County said despite Jubilee’s readiness for dialogue over IEBC, the talks were inconsequential as IEBC officers bear no votes, but nonetheless the talks would be held within parliamentary procedures
Ruto affirmed his readiness to square it out with the opposition in the forthcoming general election.
On his first day of a three-day tour of Malindi where he attended a thanksgiving rally for Kilifi women representative Aisha Jumwa after her three day incarceration, the opposition chief stated their sacrifices and street protests were paying off for the process of a cleanup exercise of the IEBC.
