IEBC set to announce repeat presidential election results

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) looks set to announce the results of the October 26 repeat presidential election.

Security has already been beefed-up at the Bomas of Kenya, the national tallying center, with the electoral commission saying that it has received all Forms 34B from all the 266 constituencies that voted.

Close sources also indicate that politicians allied to Jubilee Party have been spotted at the national tallying center ready for the announcement of President Uhuru Kenyatta as the winner.

IEBC, however, is currently in a closed-door meeting and is expected to give way forward on the 25 constituencies in Kisumu, Migori, Siaya and Homa Bay counties, which did not vote because of security concerns.

National Super Alliance leader Raila Odinga urged his supporters not to participate “in a pre-rigged electoral process” and has since termed the poll he boycotted as ‘sham’.
