IG prohibited from withdrawing MP Alice Wahomes security

The Inspector General has been prohibited from withdrawing the security detail of lawmaker Alice Wahome without following the proper procedure.

This is after High Court Judge John Mativo ruled that the security assigned to the MP had been withdrawn unlawfully.

Further the judge directed the DCI to restore the security of the legislator without fail.

“I find that she genuinely has a legitimate expectation to be given armed police officers as her security and not to be withdrawn without ,” the court ruled.

The Kandara MP moved to court to challenge the decision by the DCI to withdraw her security.

The Court also noted that she was not given an opportunity to be heard adding that she was condemned without the chance of a fair hearing.
